Marcus Fenix and his brother-in-arms Dom will return in Gears of War: E-Day, and now finally know exactly when that day will be: October 6, 2026.

The announcement came alongside a brand-new trailer that kicked off with a horned Locust doing his best Kal Drogo from Game of Thrones impression by pouring liquid Emulsion onto the head of a captured COG.

From there, it’s fairly standard Gears of War stuff, right down to the gravelly growl of Marcus, albeit a much younger Marcus since this is a prequel. And I’m fine with it seemingly stepping back to the original series, especially as the Locus are being treated as horrifying monsters again.

In case you had forgotten, E-Day is going to be exclusive to Xbox and PC. Despite getting the Gears of War remaster, PlayStation fans will not be getting the new adventure since Xbox once again changed its strategy. Will it pay off? Guess we will find out.
