THE GRAPES OF THE ANIMAL CRIMES SCAM – Australian animal rights group says it has been approached by a man claiming to have found a cat strangled with a wire cinch.

The man contacted Animal Crimes Coalition Victoria (ACV) on Monday, saying he had found the cat and a cable tied around its neck, police said. He said they are worried about the cat being tied up.

ACV Deputy Superintendent Mark Leung said: “We’d like to reassure anyone interested in learning more about this case that, even though this is an unusual case, the public deserves to know that the ACV works closely with police across the country as a result of our success in bringing charges in animal attacks and animal cruelty prosecutions.

“We’re keen to remind people that animal crime is serious and people need to remain vigilant if they have any concerns about how they handle바카라사이트 animals, or about any animals who may have been subjected to torture or abuse.”

The man told the ACV the cat was a two-year-old red tom cat, which was brought into the group from a rescue in Adelaide and had been adopted as a pet by the group after being rescued from a cat pound in Brisbane in 2015.

Police say the cat was chained and tied to a wall in a room where the man was using a kitchen table.

ACV has been contacted by concerned family members of the cat to ensure the cat is not harmed or killed by the person who tied the cable, police said.

ACV has also contacted the Royal Victoria Veterinary College on a request for further information from their veterinary surgeon, which has advised ACV is working with the police investigating the incident.

Police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

Anyone with information for the ACV is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.crimestoppersvic.org.au
