Not to be outdone by the various leaks, Rockstar and Take-Two have dropped the official GTA 6 launch trailer, which claims to have been captured on PS5. Interestingly, that’s PS5 and not PS5 Pro.
Clocking in at one and a half minutes, the trailer gives us the general setup for the game, including Jason’s former life in the military, and a glimpse at an ankle monitor on Lucia, hinting at her being out on parole. That ankle monitor appears during a steamy shower scene that cuts off before we see too much, perhaps hinting at the rumoured full nudity.
Don’t confuse that with the same nudity shown off in the leaks, which I’m fairly confident won’t be in the actual game.
We’ve also been told that a Jason and Lucia romance is entirely down to whether players choose to invest time in it, otherwise, the two will seemingly remain partners in crime.
The rest of the trailer gives us quick glimpses at bank heists, shootouts, car chases, dirt bikes, and a pretty banging song called Flower in the Hurricane featuring Tame Impala, SZA, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. Which is a fucking weird sentence to type, I have to say.
The trailer finishes with the return of the fantastic deeply voiced narrator who appeared in the GTA V trailers, reminding us that GTA 6 launches on November 19. And since this is a PlayStation-centric trailer, it doesn’t bother mentioning platforms. But it’ll be available on Xbox as well.
Current reports suggest review copies will actually be going out by the end of this month, and that reviews will be going live by launch, too.
