PlayStation State Of Play Happening This Sunday: What Can We Expect?

Sony
has
announced
that
it
will
be
holding
a
State
of
Play
event
this
week,
just
before
the
insanity
of
Summer
Game
Fest
kicks
off.

If
you
want
to
see
what
Sony
and

PlayStation
is
up
to
these
days,
the
State
of
Play
is
happening
tomorrow,
4th
June.
10pm
UK
time,
for
me
and
my
countryfolk.
That’s
2pm
PT
/
5pm
ET
/
11pm
CEST.

So
What
Can
We
Expect?

Well,
we
know
that
Sucker
Punch’s

Ghost
of
Yotei
is
scheduled
for
an
October
2nd
launch,
which
just
so
happens
to
be
my
birthday!
With
four
months
to
go,
this
might
be
a
good
time
to
provide
a
better
look
at
the
game,
perhaps
followed
up
in
another
few
months
by
a
more
in-depth
dive.

There’s
a
reasonably
chance
of
seeing
the
PS5
exclusive

Death
Stranding
2
make
an
appearance
as
well.
Keep
your
expectations
in
check,
though,
because
Kojima
Productions
are
holding
their
on
On
The
Beach
showcase
on
Sunday,
so
any
appearance
at
the
State
of
Play
will
likely
be
a
tease.

We
also
have
Housemarque’s
follow
up
to

Returnal
which
is
due
out
next
year.

Saros
could
turn
up,
although
it
might
be
too
early
for
anything
more
than
a
glimpse.

Outside
of
that,
we
enter
into
more
speculative
territory.
For
example,
what
about
Guerilla
Games?
They
are
currently
working
as
a
support
studio
on
Death
Stranding
2
and
have
acted
as
co-developers
for
a
few
projects,
but
it
has
been
over
3
years
since
they
put
out

Horizon
Forbidden
West.
They’ve
been
rumoured
to
be
working
on
a
Horizon
multiplayer
project,
but
might
we
also
get
word
about
the
next
mainline
entry
in
Aloy’s
saga?

Then
you
have
Insomniac
games
and
their
next
big
Marvel
title,
Wolverine.
This
was
revealed
way
back
in
2021
and
since
then
we’ve
barely
heard
anything
about
the
game.
Surely
Insomniac
is
ready
to
show
something,
because
otherwise
this
project
has
to
be
in
serious
trouble.
There’s
also
the
possibility
of
some
Spider-Man
news
from
them,
maybe
in
the
form
of
another
transitional
title
like
Spider-Man:
Miles
Morales
was.

Something
else
worth
considering
is
that
People
Can
Fly,
the
developers
of
Outriders,
Bulletstorm
and
more,

are
in
an
agreement
to
develop
something
based
on
an
existing
Sony
IP.
There’s
a
lot
of
room
for
speculation
there,
but
with
People
Can
Fly
specialising
in
shooters,
could
it
be
the
return
of
something
like
Killzone?
That
said,

People
Can
Fly
is
currently
in
some
financial
trouble,
and
has
cancelled
two
projects.
Neither
appear
to
be
the
Sony
game,
though.

There’s
also
the
chance
of
Naughty
Dog
showing
up
with
more
of
Intergalactic,
and
Santa
Monica
has
allegedly
been
working
on
a
brand
new
IP,
if
they
don’t
feel
like
bringing
Kratos
to
the
party.

Finally,
given
Sony’s
current
trajectory
there’s
a
reasonable
chance
of
a
remaster
being
announced,
and
a
near
100%
of
Bloodborne
fans
once
again
being
left
depressed
and
annoyed.
