SARRAHAM, NSW — Opposition politician Gareth Hughes has confirmed that he will not stand in the mayoral race against incumbent Adam Simpson afte실시간바카라사이트r his former friend was convicted of child sexual abuse, and will instead seek re-election on the Liberal party ticket.

Mr Hughes admitted to having sexual relations with five men and one woman over a decade and appeared in court in June last year as a man who had been involved in relationships with a young woman.

However, in a statement provided to Fairfax Media, Mr Hughes said he had apologised to the victims and said they had been supported in every step of the way during his sexual assault treatment program.

The lawyer denied he had committed anything wrong and said that the allegations made in court were false and defamatory.

“The facts that have come to light were presented by the defence and were based on the victim’s concerns about how the claims that were made at the hearing were being presented,” Mr Hughes said.

“I recognise in retrospect that, had my conduct been carried out more often on men and younger women rather than on more young, inexperienced girls, my conduct may not have occurred.

“I have accepted that as I began to deal with these matters more seriously as a result of the experiences and circumstances of the victims and that I now recognise how I dealt with them.”

He said his remorse had made him take a leave from his law practice.

“I have lost that office and all respect the public and the parties have and any suggestion otherwise is wrong,” he said. “I have made the decision to take time 타이 마사지off from law practice and am now returning to my practice to take a greater amount of time away from my family and continue my work.

“It is deeply saddening and I accept I have made a mistake.”
