The
Expanse,
one
of
the
greatest
sci-fi
book
series
written
–
which
also
got
an
equally
awesome
TV
series
–
is
going
to
get
its
second
videogame
adaption,
this
time
in
the
form
of
an
action
RPG.

Owlcat
Games
is
the
helm
of
this
new
project,
the
makers
of
multiple
CRPGs.
The
Expanse:
Osiris
Reborn
is
treading
new
ground
for
the
team,
though,
as
it’s
an
action
RPG,
similar
to
the
Mass
Effect
series.
Only
time
will
tell
how
well
Owlcat
make
the
switch.
However,
one
thing
we
do
know
is
that
Owlcat
already
have
a
strong
record
of
being
able
to
faithfully
adapt
existing
material,
and
excel
at
writing
characters
and
dialogue,
which
is
key
to
The
Expanse.

“Create
and
customize

own
captain
—
Earther,
Martian,
or
Belter
—
and
lead
a
crew
of
highly-skilled
specialists
as
you
face
off
against
escalating
threats,
political
pressure,
and
a
relentless
enemy
that
will
stop
at
nothing

says

page.
“In
a
solar
system
held
together
by
fragile
alliances,
every
decision
leaves
its
mark.”

The
trailer
captures
the
gritty,
grounded
tone
and
visual
style
of
the
TV
show.
Despite
the
similiaries,
though,
Osiris
Reborn
is
looking
to
tell
a
new
story
setting
during
the
first
two
books,
or
first
two
seasons
of
the
TV
show.

It
looks
like
your
small
ship,
which
at
a
glance
seems
to
the
same
class
as
the
Rocinante
from
the
books,
will
act
as
a
hub.

“Your
crew
is
more
than
just
backup
—
they’re
the
heart
of
your
story.
Each
companion
brings
with
them
their
own
personal
history
and
motives
for
joining
the
mission,
though
not
all
are
easy
to
uncover,”

says
the
official
website.
“They’re
more
than
just
specialists.
Some
are
haunted
by
past
mistakes.
Others
hold
on
dearly
to
loyalty,
survival,
or
even
something
they’ve
never
been
capable
of
fully
putting
into
words.
The
ship
becomes
your
shared
home
—
it’s
not
just
a
command
center
but
a
place
where
the
crew
can
bond
and
where
trust
is
earned.”

Combat
looks
to
be
cover-based
with
an
emphasis
on
tactics
and
using
companions
to
help
out.

“The
game
features
multiple
roles,
each
offering
a
distinct
approach
that
reflects
your
personal
playstyle.
Two
companions
will
fight
alongside
you,
supporting
whatever
strategy
you
choose
with
complementary
skills.
Others
will
assist
from
a
distance,
hacking
into
systems
or
drawing
enemies’
attention
right
when
you
need
it
most.
You
will
issue
commands
in
real
time
and
coordinate
with
your
squad
to
stay
one
step
ahead
as
the
battlefield
evolves.
Survival
depends
on
how
quickly
you
can
adapt
and
who
you
trust
to
stand
with
you
when
your
back
is
to
the
wall.”

You’ll
also
get
to
visit
some
familiar
locations
such
as
Ganymede,
Ceres
and
Mars.

“You
may
even
cross
paths
with
those
who
have
already
made
their
indelible
mark
on
this
universe,”
teases
Owlcat.

No
release
date
has
been
revealed,
but
you
can
already
choose
to
lay
down
cash
for
a
copy
of
the
game.
The
basic
version
will
set
you
back
a
respectable
$50.
Three
other
editions
ranging
from
$60
to
$280
are
also
available.
The
game
will
launch
on
PC,
Xbox
Series
S/X
and
PS5.

I’m
hyped
for
this
one,
friends.
I
love
both
the
books
and
the
TV
show,
but
the
last
Expanse
game
(handled
by
Telltale)
wasn’t
really
my
cup
of
space
tea.
This
one
looks
right
up
my
alley.
