How to Reset Xbox 360 Factory Settings

Hi I'm Max Dalton, and in this video I'm going to walk through how to reset your Xbox 360 console to its default factory settings

Restoring your Xbox 360 console to its default factory settings erases all of your personal information from the device's hard drive and returns it to the same state it was in when it was first taken out of the box Wiping your Xbox 360 back to its factory settings is one option for working through a tough-to-solve problem that can't be resolved through other means Additionally, if you're preparing to sell or donate your Xbox 360, restoring the factory settings ensures that all of your personal information is removed from the console And now, the steps to restore your Xbox 360 to its default factory settings Step 1

Turn on your Xbox 360 You'll arrive at your console's home screen Step 2 Highlight "Settings" in the menu bar The Settings menu appears on the lower half of the screen

Step 3 Highlight the "System" option in the list of Settings options, and then press "A" The System Settings screen appears Step 4 Select "Console Settings" in the System Settings screen, and then "System Info" in the list of options on the left side of the menu on the next screen

The System Info screen appears Write down the serial number associated with your Xbox 360 console that appears to the right of Console Serial Number at the top of the System Info screen Step 5 Press "B" after writing down the serial number to return to the System Settings screen Step 6

Choose "Storage" in the menu along the left side of the screen The Storage Devices screen appears Step 7 Highlight "Hard Drive" and then press "A" The Device Options screen appears

Step 8 Select "Format" in the list of options along the left side of the screen The Format Device window appears, with a message that proceeding to format your Xbox 360 hard drive will remove all content on the device Step 9 Choose "Yes

" The Format Hard Drive screen appears Step 10 Select "Enter Serial Number" at the bottom of the screen A window appears, prompting you to enter the serial number associated with your Xbox 360 console Enter your device's serial number that you wrote down previously, and then press the "Start" button to indicate that you're finished
