Halo: Campaign Evolved drops on July 28, bringing the original game to a whole new generation. It’s also bringing the game to a whole new audience – Halo will be on PlayStation for the first time ever. It’s unclear at this point if future games will launch on Sony’s machine as well since Xbox is currently switching up its strategy yet again, but for now, a lot more people are going to experience the awesomeness of Master Chief.

Ahead of its launch, the full Trophy list has gone live. The Xbox achievement list will, of course, look the same aside from the coveted Platinum trophy. And seriously, how awesome would it be to have a Halo Platinum?

At first glance, the Halo: Campaign Evolved trophy list looks fairly manageable. Most of it involves finishing missions, collecting skulls and terminals, and ticking off assorted combat challenges. There are also no multiplayer trophies, which is always a lovely sight, even launching a remake of the first game without multiplayer feels insane.

Unfortunately, two trophies threaten to turn the Platinum into an absolute bastard.

The first is MYTHIC, which requires completing the campaign with LASO enabled. That means Legendary difficulty with a pile of skull modifiers designed to make your life miserable, including tougher enemies, ammunition restrictions and harsher consequences for dying.

Then there is Mix Master, which asks players to complete an entire Remixed Campaign without dying. Exactly how painful that will be depends on whether it can be done on Easy, whether restarting a mission saves the run and just how vicious the random skull combinations become.

A few mission-specific challenges could also cause problems. Map Quest, for example, requires completing The Silent Cartographer without shooting, throwing grenades, using melee attacks, dying or restarting. That sounds less like a trophy and more like a personal attack.

For now, I would put the Platinum somewhere around an 6-7/10 difficulty, although that is very provisional. Co-op, accessibility settings, exploits or forgiving Remix rules could bring it down considerably.

Either way, this looks like a mostly reasonable trophy list with two enormous walls waiting near the end.
