As
per
rumours,
Call
of
Duty:
Modern
Warfare
3
is
heading
to
Game
Pass
this
week,
Microsoft
has
confirmed.
Modern
Warfare
3
is
the
newest
entry
in
the
long-running
franchise
and
its
release
on
Game
Pass
on
July
24
will
mark
the
first
time
a
Call
of
Duty
game
will
be
available
on
the
subscription
service.
This
is
also
only
the
second
Activision-Blizzard
title
to
hit
Game
Pass
since
Microsoft
acquired
the
company
last
year.
The
other
game
was,
of
course,
Diablo
3.
The
next
Call
of
Duty
game,
titled
Black
Ops
6,
is
due
to
launch
in
October
of
this
year
and
will
also
come
to
Game
Pass,
but
only
to
certain
subscribers
of
the
service
due
to
Microsoft’s
recently
announced
restructuring
of
Game
Pass.
In
case
you
missed
it,
the
existing
Game
Pass
Console
is
being
retired
and
replaced
with
Game
Pass
Standard
which
comes
with
console
multiplayer
by
default
but
doesn’t
include
day
1
releases
of
Xbox
exclusives
games,
such
as
Black
Ops
6.
Instead,
only
PC
Game
Pass
and
Game
Pass
Ultimate
members
will
get
the
day
1
releases.
Anyone
on
Standard
will
have
to
wait
an
unannounced
period
of
time
for
games
like
Black
Ops
6
to
be
added.
Game
Pass
will
also
increase
in
price
for
every
tier,
just
in
time
for
the
newest
and
shiniest
Call
of
Duty.
It’s
a
move
that
has
sparked
the
ire
of
the
FTC
which
is
currently
attempted
to
appeal
the
sale
of
Activision-Blizzard
to
Microsoft.
The
FTC
described
the
Game
Pass
changes
as
being
“exactly
the
sort
of
consumer
harm
from
the
merger
that
the
FTC
has
alleged.”
