During
this
years
Xbox
Games
Showcase,
Microsoft
announced
three
new
iterations
of
its
console,
all
coming
out
by
the
end
of
the
year.
Before
you
get
your
hopes
up,
these
are
not
“pro”
versions
of
the
Xbox.
No,
they
are
reskins
of
the
existing
S
and
X
models,
albeit
with
differing
colours
and
storage
space.
Oh,
and
one
is
worse.
There’s
a
new
“Robot
White”
Xbox
Series
X
with
1TB
of
storage
and
no
disc
drive.
Then
there’s
a
1TB
version
of
the
Series
S
in
the
same
colour.
Finally,
there’s
a
2TB
Series
X
with
a
disc
drive
in
“Galaxy
Black”.
There
was
no
mention
of
the
special
Xbox
controller
that
was
previously
leaked
which
featured
the
ability
to
powerup
your
console
as
soon
as
you
picked
up
the
controller.
It
was
revealed
in
leaked
documents
alongside
refreshed
Xbox
consoles.
The
very
same
ones
that
popped
up
today,
in
fact.
In
terms
of
pricing,
here
you
go:
-
Xbox
Series
S
1TB
in
Robot
White
–
$349.99/€349.99
ERP -
Xbox
Series
X
1TB
Digital
Edition
–
$449.99/€499.99
ERP -
Xbox
Series
X
2TB
Galaxy
Black
Special
Edition
–
$599.99/€649.99
ERP
The
pricing
seems
crazy
to
me
because,
for
example,
the
new
all-digital
Series
X
costs
exactly
the
same
as
the
original,
except
you
don’t
get
a
disc
drive.
You’re
literally
getting
less
functionality
for
the
same
money.
What?
Am
I
missing
something?
Then
there’s
the
special
edition
Series
X:
another
$150
for
an
extra
terabyte
of
storage
is
crazy
because
you
can
literally
buy
a
1TB
expansion
card
for
less
than
that.
Pricing
aside,
it’s
interesting
to
see
Xbox
not
going
down
the
“pro”
route
like
Sony
seems
to
be
doing
if
the
various
leaks
are
anything
to
go
on.
And
they
probably
are
because
even
the
legends
at
Digital
Foundry
put
together
an
article
discussing
how
its
shaping
up
to
be
the
most
powerful
console
ever.
All
three
of
these
new
variants
will
be
available
this
holiday
season.
