The
first
physical
sales
chart
for
the
UK
of
2025
has
arrived,
and
once
again
Hogwarts
Legacy
has
managed
to
conjure
itself
up
first
place.
In
fact,
the
sales
chart
is
fairly
notable
for
the
fact
that
it
doesn’t
contain
many
2024
releases.
Only
three
titles
on
the
list
were
released
in
2024.
Circana
analyst
Mat
Piscatella
commented
on
this
very
fact
over
on
Bluesky,
saying
“The
biggest
challenge
in
the
video
game
industry
going
into
2025
is
that
the
list
of
most
played
games
today
looks
the
same
as
it
did
in
2018.
That’s
my
hill.
I
also
believe
this
is
a
Very
Not
Good
Thing
for
the
overall
industry.”
Anyways.
The
biggest
challenge
in
the
video
game
industry
going
into
2025
is
that
the
list
of
most
played
games
today

I

industry.—

Hogwarts
Legacy
now
holds
the
distinction
of
charting
100
times,
and
the
last
we
heard
had
managed
to
sell
over
30
million
copies.
EA
Sports
25
takes
the
second
spot,
while
Elden
Ring
has
suddenly
popped
back
up
to
3rd
place.
Perhaps
Christmas
sales
helped
it
out?
Not
that
it
needs
much
help
considering
it
was
last
reported
at
28.6
million
units
sold.
Call
of
Duty:
Black
Ops
6
has
slipped
down
to
4th
place,
the
lowest
it
has
been
since
releasing.
Just
the
other
day,
we
discovered
exactly
how
expensive
making
Call
of
Duty
games
can
be,
so
those
sales
are
important.
