Fallout season 2 is officially happening as game series sees massive sales boost

Just
over
a
week
after
premiering,
Amazon
has
confirmed
that
a
second
season
of
Fallout
has
been
greenlit,
although
it
looks
like
it
may
have
already
been
given
the
go
ahead
a
while
back.

Days
before
season
1
of
Fallout
debuted
on
Amazon
prime

news
broke
that
that
California
had
awarded
$25m
in
tax
credits
to
Fallout

and
thus
indicating
that
production
for
the
series
would
move
to
California
for
season
2.
According
to
Variety,
the
state’s
tax
incentives
are
heavily
geared
towards
luring
TV
shows
that
have
already
begun
production
in
other
states
to
California.

“Jonah,
Lisa,
Geneva,
and
Graham
have
captivated
the
world
with
this
ground-breaking,
wild
ride
of
a
show,”
said
Jennifer
Salke,
head
of
Amazon
MGM
Studios.
“The
bar
was
high
for
lovers
of
this
iconic
video
game
and
so
far
we
seem
to
have
exceeded
their
expectations,
while
bringing
in
millions
of
new
fans
to
the
franchise.
The
cast
led
by
Ella
Purnell,
Aaron
Moten,
Walton
Goggins,
and
Kyle
MacLachlan
have
knocked
it
out
of
the
park!
We’d
like
to
thank
Jonah
and
Lisa
and
our
friends
at
Bethesda
for
bringing
the
show
to
us
as
well
as
Geneva
and
Graham
for
coming
aboard
as
showrunners.
We
are
thrilled
to
announce
season
two
after
only
one
week
out
and
take
viewers
even
farther
into
the
surreal
world
of
‘Fallout.’”

Within
four
days
of
being
available,
Fallout
had
become
one
of
Amazon’s
most
watched
shows.
Its
gone
done
well
with
audiences
too,
holding
an
89%
audience
score
on
Rotten
Tomatoes
and
a
critic
score
94%.

The
massive
success
of
the
TV
show
has
translated
over
to
the
games
as
well.
Pretty
much
the
entirety
of
the
Fallout
series
has
benefited
from
deep
discounts
across
various
storefronts
for
the
past
few
weeks,
and
the
sales
numbers
have
rocketed.
Fallout
4,
for
example,
saw
its
sales
jump
by
7,500%,
taking
it
to
the
top
of
the

European
sales
chart
according
to
data
posted
by
GameIndustry.biz.

Fallout
3,
Fallout:
New
Vegas
and
Fallout
76
also
made
it
into
the
top
ten.

Fallout
4
is
also
going
to
benefit
from
its

long-awaited
update
later
this
month
which
is
designed
to
update
the
game
for
PS5
and
Xbox
Series
S/X.
