Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Announced For PS5, Releasing This Summer

Another
day,
another

Xbox

exclusive
game
announced
for

PlayStation
5
.

This
time
around
it’s

Senua’s
Saga:
Hellblade
2

that’s
making
the
journey
from
the
green
brand
to
the
blue
in
the
form
of
an
Enhanced
Edition.

The
news
was
announced
by
developer
Ninja
Theory
in
a
short
video
posted
to
X.

The
game,
which
will
release
this
summer,
is
going
to
include
some
enhancements
that
will
also
be
made
available
on
Xbox
and

PC

as
an
update.
What
these
improvements
will
be
was
not
revealed.

“We
have
such
incredible
fans
of
Ninja
Theory
on
PlayStation,
going
all
the
way
back
to
the
days
of
Heavenly
Sword,
and
we’re
so
pleased
we
can
welcome
PlayStation
fans
back
to
Senua’s
story.”

You
may
recall
that
the
first
game,
Hellblade:
Senua’s
Sacrifice,
was
available
on
PlayStation.
Microsoft
went
on
to
acquire
Ninja
Theory
and
thus
the
sequel
ended
up
being
an
Xbox
and
PC
exclusive.

Senua’s
Saga:
Hellblade
2
launched
to
decent
reviews
and
has
picked
up
numerous
awards,
but
otherwise
failed
to
make
much
impact.
The
game
barely
seemed
to
be
marketed
prior
to
launch,
and
when
it
did
come
out

terrible
player
numbers
on
Steam

was
the
first
sign
it
wasn’t
doing
well,

followed
by
a
terrible
debut
on
the
sales
charts.

To
this
day,
Microsoft
and
Ninja
Theory
have
remained
silent
about
how
well
it
sold
or
even
how
many
players
it
got.

Perhaps
most
damning
of
all,
though,
is
that
nobody
seemed
to
be
talking
about
it.
Within
just
days
it
had
already
faded
out
of
the
gaming
consciousness
and
it
has
never
returned.
Maybe
it
can
find
a
new
lease
on
life
on
PlayStation.

It’s
also
the
next
game
in
Microsoft’s
new
strategy
of
publishing
their
games
everywhere.
So
far
this
year,
they’ve
brought
the
likes
of
Forza
Horizon
5
and
Indiana
Jones
&
The
Great
Circle
to
PlayStation,
and

has
announced
that
the
original
Gears
of
War
is
also
going
to
roadie-run
onto
PS5
this
year.
