GTA 6 Has Been Delayed Again, Now Launching In November, 2026

Our fears have come to pass, my friends, as the Grand Theft Auto 6 will not be making its scheduled May, 2026 release date and will instead launch 6 months later on November 19. Hopefully.

Rockstar shared the news on social media, saying “We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”

POV: You’ve delayed your game so it doesn’t compete with GTA 6, but now Rockstar has delayed GTA 6 again

The news will undoubtedly cause another ripple in the industry, as many publisher and developers chose to move their own game launches away from the release of GTA 6 in order to avoid being lost in its shadow. Now that the release date has been pushed back again, companies might have to rethink their plans. Again.

If the game does actually make it’s new November release date, it will have been roughly three years since it was officially announced. But let’s face it, Rockstar has a rich history of delaying their games. Only a few titles have launched without a delay, while the rest have usually been pushed back at least once. Max Payne 3, for instance, suffered from numerous delays that ultimately resulted in it release 2.5 years after it was initially supposed to.

The announcement also saw publisher Take-Two’s stock price take a bit of hit. Not that they care, because GTA 6 will probably earn ALL OF THE MONEY when it finally releases.
